WA Teddy Bear Challenge 2016
organised by Jennie Boylan – The Teddy Tree

Teddy Bear
This year’s Challenge Pattern has been designed by Brigit Charles, Brigit’s Bears.

The pattern was allowed to be shrunk, enlarged or made in the original size, but no other alterations were allowed. Entrants are able to make the pattern in any combination of fabrics or furs they wish. The Fabric Challenge this year is a 25mm fur length grey/green mohair with a brown backing.  Entrants may “boil, bake, dye, shave or use in original state” and make whatever bear (or animal) they wish from this mohair.

The challenge is to teddy bear makers to create their own interpretation of the Challenge Bear Pattern for 2016  – “Victor”.

The results of this annual challenge are always stunning and a very popular special feature exhibition at the WA CRAFT Show.
